Kogi: Gov Yahaya Bello Suspends Commissioner Who Brutalised, Raped Lady Over Facebook Post

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has ordered the suspension of Mr Abdulmumuni Danga, Commissioner for Water Resources in the state, who allegedly assaulted and raped a lady over a Facebook post.
There has been a sustained widespread condemnation, especially on the social media when the news broke of how the commissioner kidnapped, assaulted and raped the lady identified as Elizabeth Oyeniyi before releasing her.

NEWS:  Anambra State Government Gives Quit Notice To Okada Riders in Onitsha, Awka Commercial motorbike (Okada) operators in Onitsha and Awka, the capital city of Anambra State have been given until July 1, 2018 to change to another trade or vacate the two cities for good.  This is one of the many resolutions from the meeting of the Anambra State Executive Council today, Tuesday, May 22, 2018. The ultimatum given to Okada operators in the two cities is part of the overall strategy adopted by the state government to deepen its crackdown on crime and restore sanity to Onitsha and Awka. POLITICS : Falae in Ibadan to woo Alao-Akala to SDP Chief Olu Falae The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Olu Falae, on Monday visited the Ibadan home of a former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, in a bid to woo him to join the SDP. Alao-Akala recently defected to the All Progressives Congress after failing to win the state’s governorship election in 2015 on the platform of the Labour Party. The former governor had earlier dumped the Peoples Democratic Party after a disagreement with the national leaders over the conduct of the state primaries and what he described as imposition of candidate.
