BREAKING: APC Reschedules Ekiti Governorship Primary



The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled the Ekiti governorship primary election.
Initially scheduled to take place on Friday, May 11, the primary has been shifted by a day – to Saturday, May 12, 2018.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Bolaji Abdullahi, said the decision was taken after consultation between the APC National Working Committee (NWC), aspirants and other stakeholders.
The APC had picked Friday for the exercise after the first primary, held on Saturday last week, was declared inconclusive due to violence.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has ordered accelerated investigation into the alleged battering of a beauty queen, Elizabeth Oyeniyi, by the state Commissioner for Water Resources, Abdumumini Danga. Oyeniyi had accused the commissioner of assaulting and raping her over a  Facebook  post. Oyeniyi had on March 29, 2020, made a post on her  Facebook  page about Danga not taking care of his sibling, who is her friend. Farmer bagged jailed term for defiling 13-year-old girl A Magistrate’s Court in Minna, Niger State, on Friday sentenced a 25-year-old farmer, Tanko Yau, to seven years imprisonment for having carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old girl. Magistrate Binta Rijau convicted Yau on April 20 but reserved sentencing after he pleaded guilty to a count charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with the minor. The prosecutor, Insp. Gunduma Ibrahim, had told the court that one Mohammed Bello reported the matter to the police. According to the   News Agency of Nigeria , Ibrahim said the complainant alleged that the accused lured his daughter into his room and had sexual intercourse with her. According to him, the offence is contrary to Section 18 (2) of the Child Right Law of Niger State. The convict pleaded guilty when the charge was read to him and begged the court for leniency.
